This is just a quick introductory post to let people know what's going on.
Kyle and I (Darcy) will soon be embarking on the adventure of a lifetime - sailing down the ICW, through the Caribbean, destined for a small, sweet river in Guatemala. Somewhere around the end of January we'll depart from Moyock, NC in the s/v Southern Cross, a 34 ft Islander. We're both below 25 years old, and I've never sailed before, so it's going to be a trip full of new experiences.
We have very tentative plans so far, and they'll be edited as we go so I won't be any more specific than I have been already. But currently we're both in heavy prep stages with Kyle working on the boat and me gathering and preserving all sorts of supplies. Today is one of my favorites - a bag full of secondhand books, and then doing some canning. Tomorrow I can wax some cheese, and after Christmas I'll be bottling some wine.
So there you have it, the beginning of our adventure...
Cheers,
Darcy
Yay! I'm the first to comment on your blog. I deserve some sort of reward or something. Get on that.
